NYC Vignettes: VOGUE: A Life On The Dance Floor
I am so incredibly proud of Dashaun, as well! I learned SO much from just watching him doing his thing from 7 years ago. I had moved to NYC and became a part of the POCC (People of Color in Crisis) community. POCC is no longer around but it provided an opportunity for young Black/Latino Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual + Transgender to gather and have a space. It sounds like “whatever” but space is very very very important. And on Thursdays we’d have our youth meeting and they would be voguing for their liveeesss! DO YOU HEAR ME?! And I learned. Definitely, a life changing experience. So, I just wanted to share this. I think it’s amazing. So much more to come, I am sure.
